Viewpoints, Mindfulness, & Meisner for the Actor-Improviser

Instructor: Oliver Georgiou
Length: 10 hours – 5 classes x 2 hours

This is an acting class and an improv class, designed to bridge the gap between the two! Whether you're an improviser who struggles to stay emotionally grounded and committed to the integrity of a scene, or an actor who struggles to come up with content on the spot, this course develops all aspects of the actor-improviser!

  • You are the actor. Get your mind & body ready to listen and follow your impulses.

  • You are the writer. Use emphasis & subtext in your dialogue to tell a story with a few simple words.

  • You are the dramaturge. With so many offers to choose from it's up to you to follow what's fun & interesting.

Viewpoints is an acting and physical theatre technique which defines 9 primary tenets of space and time, that are always in play, whether or not you're paying attention to them! The goal of this course is to develop your recognition of and sensitivity to them, and to give you the tools to take advantage of each and every moment of stage time while staying connected to the scene and your scene partner.
